How to transfer a firearm:

Longguns:

Transferring a longgun, rifle or shotgun, is easy and simple; just follow these steps:

1. Purchase the firearm from the internet source or out of state seller.

2. After you have made the purchase, email us the following:

3. Your Name

4. Your email address

5. Your cell phone number

6. The name of the company you purchased from

7. Sellers email address

8. Brief description of the item

9. Order or Auction #

10. Send email to nsk@nsksales.com

We will contact your seller, send them a copy of our FFL, and notify you that it has been done. We will also notify you when your firearm arrives. Then you simply make an appointment to come to our Reisterstown office, and complete an ATF Form 4473. We will contact the FBI NICS to finalize the transfer. The fee for this is $60. Veterans and First Responders automatically receive a $5 discount.

Handguns:

Follow all of the procedures for a Longgun, plus the following:

1. Go to the Maryland State Police website, log into the “MSP Portal” and start a 77R.

2. FORWARD us the email that you receive from the MSP with the Application and Pin Number.

Notes:

1. Police Officers and Retired Veterans do not need a State Issued Handgun Qualification License (HQL).

2. ALL customers purchasing a handgun are REQUIRED to complete the form 77R!

5. The fees for transferring a handgun have an additional $10 application fee, required by MSP. Total fee is therefore $60.00 except for Veterans and First Responders which automatically receive a $5 discount.
